Having great stallions in any breeding is a must, but at O’Donnell Quarter Horses, we have built our program around our mares. Our belief is that if you don’t have quality mares, you won’t have a successful program. Our focus is on quality, not quantity. We foal six to ten quality mares a year. We feel that solid, proven pedigrees will take most of the guess work out of what a horse will or won’t do. As important as it is to breed to a quality stallion we strongly believe that the mare must be of equal or better quality than the stallion if a foal is expected to meet or exceed one’s expectations. We believe that our broodmares measure up to this statement. Our mares have been proven on the ranch, on the track, in the arena, or as a producer. They’re proven mares with athletic ability, great minds, good bone, correct conformation, big hearts, kind and willing dispositions, and have purple pedigrees.

These mares are daughters and grand daughters of the great quarter horses: Sugar Bars, Freckles Playboy, Murrtheblurr, Jet Smooth, Gay Bar King, My Leroy Brown, Frenchmans Guy, Streakin Sixes, Streakin Six, Better Judgment, Tough Bar, Chicks Beduino, Sir Cashanova and Sun Frost.
